Maldito Sweet
Gran Canaria Swim Week 2025
Nicole Mentado Burman was born in 1992 surrounded by the seaside culture of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). He grew up in a family with a strong textile tradition. His grandfather is the owner of Mentado Uniformes and his parents created the well-known intimates, swimwear and sportswear brands Lenita & XTG from scratch.
The workshops, patterns, fabrics, threads and the creative world in which the day-to-day life of her immediate environment revolved soon became her playground. From the earliest childhood, she traveled and moved in the circles and ins and outs of the fashion world (fairs, catwalks, visits to suppliers, inspiring trips... as an only child, she is not separated from the creative pairing formed by Luis Mentado and Lenita Burman).
But far from settling in, he decided to nurture his own style and learn knowledge by training in Fashion Design at the Marangoni Institute in Milan and perfecting himself with various postgraduate degrees oriented to the world of Marketing at Central Saint Martins, in London; two of the most prestigious educational centers in the world in the fashion sector.

“Maldito Fairy Tale”: The New MalditoSweet Collection That Breaks Traditional Storybook Clichés**
MalditoSweet unveils its latest collection, “Maldito Fairy Tale” — a bold proposal that redefines what we think of as magic, fantasy, and beauty. Inspired by the stories we were told as little girls, this collection challenges everything we thought we knew about happy endings, princesses, and charming princes.
Instead of following the well-worn paths, Maldito Fairy Tale takes a daring turn: here, the heroines aren’t waiting to be rescued — they create their own destiny. The pieces are designed for women with attitude, who aren't afraid to break stereotypes and embrace their power and authenticity.
With a vibrant, contrasting color palette, innovative textures, and unique details, the swimwear collection by MalditoSweet stands out for its rebellious style and versatility — creating a bridge between the magic of the past and the reality of today. Decorative elements like metallic rings at the neckline and bold color combinations nod to the mystical and the unknown.
Each piece invites you to live the fantasy without losing sight of the inner power every woman holds. It's not about following the rules — it's about rewriting the story. One where real magic lies in freedom, self-acceptance, and personal strength.
Maldito Fairy Tale is a celebration of difference, resilience, and of women who refuse to be defined by others’ expectations. It’s a story for those ready to write their own.
