Isla Bonita Moda

Isla Bonita Moda is an institutional programme promoted by the Department of Economic Promotion of the Island Council of La Palma. Managed through the public company Sodepal, its purpose is to promote and professionalise the island’s textile and creative fashion sector.

The programme’s strategy is structured around three main pillars: the promotion and expansion of designers and their brands, the training and development of emerging talent, and the commercialisation of products and collections.

Atelier El Tesoro / @ateliereltesoro

Atelier El Tesoro is a brand specialized in the design and production of designer jewellery. Its collections are characterised by their timelessness and versatility, resulting in exclusive pieces crafted to measure and tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.

Committed to sustainability, the brand uses environmentally responsible materials and supports mindful production processes, avoiding unnecessary stock and promoting the efficient use of resources. The result is a series of unique creations that combine craftsmanship, elegance and environmental awareness.

Juan Manuel Simón / @ban.artesaniaencuero

Founded by leather artisan Juan Manuel Simón Pérez, a resident of the municipality of Villa de Mazo in La Palma, the brand was born from a vocation that dates back to his childhood, when he first discovered his passion for manual crafts. During his time in the military, he began creating leather bracelets that he exchanged with his fellow soldiers, thus starting a self-taught journey in the world of leather craftsmanship.

In 2008 he obtained his official artisan certification and began to give greater visibility to his craft, further developing his skills through workshops in Argentina and by visiting specialised markets and exhibitions in places such as Alicante, Elche and Morocco. His production focuses on shoes, guarachos, belts, bags and small accessories, all entirely handmade without the use of machinery. His collaborations with Isla Bonita Moda brands such as Diazar Atelier and Pedro Juan are also particularly noteworthy.

Gohemm / @gohemmmoda

Gohemm was founded by Marta González, a native of Santa Cruz de La Palma, who brings nearly forty years of experience in the world of sewing and garment making. Throughout her career, she has provided personalised services, developing a deep knowledge of the craft and building close relationships with her clients.

The brand is now entering a new stage marked by creative evolution and the exploration of new horizons in design. Gohemm maintains its artisanal essence and attention to detail, embracing carefully crafted proposals that combine experience, aesthetic sensitivity and a contemporary vision of fashion.

Over time, her creations have been worn by several Isla Bonita Moda brands at nationally significant events. Her brand is defined by the fusion of traditional artisanal techniques with a commercial vision adapted to contemporary fashion, resulting in elegant and versatile pieces that complement a wide range of design proposals.

La Sereca / @lasereca_artesania

Each design is conceived as an exclusive piece that reflects the brand’s dedication to responsible fashion, where quality, authenticity and sensitivity towards the environment play a central role.

Maru La Palma / @marufroehlich

Born in Berlin and based in La Palma since 1993, Marion has developed her experience in the field of sewing since the 1980s, after training at Berlin’s historic century-old theatre. Her creative career has always been closely linked to manual craftsmanship and the experimentation with different textile techniques.

In January 2024 she obtained her official artisan certification issued by the Department of Crafts of the Cabildo of La Palma. From that moment, the Blossoms Bags series was born, a collection of bags that has been very well received and marks the beginning of a business strategy aimed at consolidating her brand under the “Made in La Palma” label.

Sara Luis / @saraluis_joyas

Sara Luis is a jewellery brand created by designer Sara Luis Rodríguez, originally from San Cristóbal de La Laguna and currently based in La Palma, where she develops all her creations. She trained in jewellery at the Manolo Blahnik School of Art, while always maintaining a close connection with her background as a sculptor and ceramic artist.

Her work focuses on contemporary and author jewellery, with pieces handcrafted and strongly inspired by artistic expression. Her collections explore concepts such as memory, emotions and personal statements, transforming each piece into a small sculpture with its own story. In 2021 she received the award for Best Collection in the Jewellery and Accessories category at La Palma Fashion Talent.

Raquel Sanjuán / @rsanjuansombreros

Raquel Sanjuán, originally from Santa Cruz de La Palma, is a professional milliner, pattern maker and multidisciplinary creator. Her work stands out for the combination of aesthetic sensitivity, technical mastery and a contemporary vision of design made in the Canary Islands.

Influenced from an early age by her mother, an artisan of traditional costumes, she developed a deep passion for ancestral techniques and manual craftsmanship. This heritage is reflected in her creative approach, based on conscious production, respect for artisanal processes and a distinctive identity closely linked to the territory.

Shamelu / @shamelu___

The brand develops a swimwear and lingerie proposal for men and women that combines comfort, creativity and a strong conceptual character. Its designs feature original prints and a contemporary aesthetic based on asymmetric lines and a modern visual language. Shamelu also commits to sustainable fabrics and responsible production processes, reusing the leftover materials from each collection to create its packaging.
