Nuria Avellaneda (Barcelona, 1978) is the creator of MONNUR, a swimwear firm that was born in Palma de Mallorca in 2020 with the aim of offering women an elegant, comfortable and flattering style of swimwear for any type of silhouette. “The brand, made by hand with exquisite materials, evokes the Mediterranean Sea, magical sunsets and hidden coves, white sand and, of course, all the women who visit the Balearic island every year in search of the sun”, assures the designer, a fashion enthusiast who, since childhood, has admired the great masters of Couture who now inspire her designs and who has learned the trade from her mother, a seamstress by profession.

After a career dedicated to interior design and event organisation, Nuria Avellaneda decided to make her dream come true by creating this brand that already has points of sale in luxury hotels and specialised swimwear stores throughout Spain, in addition to having an online store.

Following in the brand's footsteps, the inspiration comes from the Mediterranean breeze, the same breeze that causes the sea waves to splash against the rocks, expressing itself in wavy lines. Shiny fabrics are its hallmark; rashguards in bright colours such as Aubergine in its most elegant tone, the most intense Cherry or Bleu Océan in its most vivid navy blue and lurex in taupe and silver colours give life to the brand.
